Is Barack Obama increasing the hate rate?

Recently, on current.com I came across a news headline reading, Hate Crimes Spike Since Obama Win. I'm wondering if this is a sign that the harsh reality of racism is slowly emerging once again in the United States. A group of high schoolers in Raleigh, North Carolina made some comments on the Internet about the President-elect that caused secret service officials to give them a visit. There have been over 200-hate related incidents since November 4, 2008. Some may ask if folks are just now paying serious attention since the first African-American president was elected just a few weeks ago. Although some may truly be upset and want to seek out for revenge and attempt to "take their country back."

That is really crazy. I don't understand why people act like that. People need to realize that America is a veru diverse country. we are one big meltingpot. If people do not like it then maybe they do not need to be here. Find a country where they do not feel threatened.

That is a good point, however the U.S.A. is a male dominated society, particularly white males, and the majority of white males in this country realize that they are the true minority around the world. The world mostly consists of poor women. Anyways, hopefully the FBI, CIA, and the Secret Service protect our elected president with the best of their ability.

It's a sad but true thing. Even though the election should have helped people to open their mind some people minds closed even more. The rumors to assinate Obama because they "want their country back" are absurd. I feel like since the election hate is resurfacing quicker than ever. I am just interested to see how things unfold in the next four years.
